Autumn Roadside Leaf Sweep this Saturday November 28th 10am

Starting at 10am please come to spot where you would like to help out. The traffic islands, roundabouts and entrances to The Deerpark are all in need of some TLC. Helper weeders and sweepers for these communal areas would be greatly appreciated. Please come prepared with your own gloves, brushes, tools etc. and respect 2m social distance guidelines.

MMRA Winter Art Competition

MMRA are delighted to launch our very first Online Winter Art Competition. The competition is open to all residents of Mount Merrion. So whether you are a beginner, novice or budding artist there’s a chance to win some great prizes.

There are five age categories from under 10s to over 65s. In the spirit of supporting local businesses, MMRA will endeavor to issue winners with prize vouchers that can be redeemed within the community.

Garda Alert: do not buy unsolicited goods in a car park

Community Garda John O’Shea has advised residents not to buy unsolicited goods in shopping centre car parks. As we approach Christmas, recently Gardai have been made aware that items are being sold in the car parks of Shopping Centres. This could be kitchen knives (lately), food, electrical goods etc.  People would approach a person maybe say they are from the local butcher then try sell knives etc. Obviously these items are of poor quality, no warranty and the sellers would not be registered with revenue. The Rise – Farewell to a much loved Sycamore Tree

It is with great sadness that the Sycamore tree at the junction of The Rise and Trees Road Upper was felled. It was dead on one side and had got to a condition which DLRCC could no longer retain due to risk of branches fracturing etc. It will take a couple of years for the underground tree roots to deteriorate sufficiently for a tree to be replanted here but once it does we shall replant a replacement.
