Historical Memorabilia Evening – this Thursday

What are you up to this Thursday evening, Dec 7th? If you do not have a previous pressing, must attend engagement we would love to see you in Mount Merrion, on the hill. How about it?

It will be different. Instead of having a brilliant speaker talk to us about a most interesting subject we will have a handful of ordinary people talk to us for a few minutes on a subject of rare and in some cases personal interest.

For example Niall will show us some of the rarest Irish coins in existence, dating back to the middle ages and one goes back even further—to the Vikings. Peter has a Dublin Opinion Album that contains all the Cartoons of the 1930s—back to the Dáil of 1932.

Three people have memorabilia from Cork in the 1920’s.

Frank was the Irish Representative to the UN in the 1970’s and met some extraordinary Leaders in that environment. He will recount just a few.

The Irish Genealogical Society will have a speaker and like all the others will have a table with their exhibits at the end of the room where refreshments will also be served. You can chat with the exhibitors and other attendees if you wish.

How about that? All for 4 quid and free for annual members—we stand to lose a fortune, just to make you happy and we love it.

See you this Thursday evening at 8pm in Mount Merrion, go on you’ll love it too.
