On Saturday 17th came the good news for Mount Merrion residents that An Bord Pleanala had comprehensively rejected Union Cafe’s plans to redevelop the site. In their decision the Board took into consideration all the major arguments made by individual residents and by Mount Merrion Residents Association. It considered that the proposed development by reason of scale,siting,layout ,bulk and height was not an appropriate design and would not be suitable for the environment.
