Community Gardening: Plants Rehomed

20210520_170758The four large wooden planters at Sycamore Roadwere were replenished in May with pollinator friendly perennials and four beautiful trees.

The existing plants minded over many years by Barbara, Mary, Hilda, Henry and others, were carefully removed for safekeeping to rehome to communal green spaces in Mount Merrion.

You might have spotted some familiar flowers in the 3-tiered planter at the Deerpark Road entrance to the Church carpark, planted by Clare and Jean in May.
After plenty of TLC, the Ceanothus shrub and Ox eye daisy plant are now in situ just behind the Mount Merrion nameplate at bottom of The Rise.

Thanks to Jean Carson and the MMRA Environment Committee for minding them over the summer and settling them into their new home.  We hope they will thrive there for many years to come.
