We have received the following update from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council:
Works on the All-Weather Pitch at Oatlands College continue to progress steadily. The following works are now complete: enabling works, main drainage, outlet connections, ball catch netting and lighting posts, the foundation for the changing room structure, and retaining elements.
Works on the drainage and attenuation elements are practically complete and works to install the perimeter fencing and changing room structure, will be ongoing over the next month.
We have also completed phase 1 of the proposed tree planting in the northeast corner of the site. The existing mature tree line here has been infilled with Lombardy Poplar (Populus nigra ‘italica’) And Larch (Larix decidua) to replace the trees removed to facilitate this development. These have been underplanted with native hedgerow species, to enhance the biodiversity value of this treeline.
Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council will continue to issue regular updates on progress throughout the works. We continue to enforce a no parking policy in the residential estates surrounding the site and safety protocols are in place to manage access to facilitate pedestrian and vehicular movement.
We appreciate your consideration during this time.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any further information.
Kind regards,
Sophie Barwich, Project Manager
