The following Summary of Planning Information was considered by the MMRA Committee members at the meeting on 30/10/2024.
- Flanagans Site and Union Café
Flanagans Site has minor ongoing works but still unfinished. Ownership of the development is uncertain.
There are strong rumors that the Union Café site has been sold. Since the site has no current Planning Permission for Development any new owner will need to pursue a new Planning Application. - Thornhill House
Construction within the site is nearing completion.
Related works outside the site, i.e. drainage and road/ footpaths/ verges in the general Cherrygarth, area now completed. - 24, 26 and 28 Fosters Avenue
Main development has commenced. MMRA awaits details of the completion date. - Rear of 38 Greenfield Road
DLRCoCo granted Planning Permission D24A/0008 for 3 dwellings. MMRA and others lodged appeals to An Bord Pleanála in June 2024. Decision awaited.
Ref. ABP 319907-24. - 44 and 44a Foster Avenue
DLRCoCo refused Planning Permission 23D/0489 for 24no. apartments on 23/08/2024. The Applicant appealed that decision to An Bord Pleanala ABP-320601on 19/07/2024. MMRA and others lodged observations to An BordPleanala before the due date on 16/09/2024. Decision awaited. - Open Green Space along North Avenue /Greenfield Road
No recent update. - Planning Legislation
Current Planning and Development Bill now passed by Oireachtas.
MMRA having a Constitution and many years of continuous existence will qualify to participate in observations, appeals and judicial reviews. - Section 9 of the Housing (Traveller Accommodation) Act 1998
The DLRCoCo Executive Report for the online TAP 2025-2029 Consultation Survey has excluded proposed Greygates site. MMRA expects Councillors to vote to approve the Executive Report at the DLRCoCo November 2024 meeting.
