The destruction of Mount Merrion

The destruction of Mount Merrion

Above is a photo  of the house at the N11 end of Roebuck Avenue outside Number One. These people had, until last month, a lovely vista of 200 year old Irish Hardwood trees. Overnight the trees were cut and a big truck reversed down the 80 year old little road of traditional one story bungalows with the timber frame of a tall barn-like house with a tin roof. Every garden based memory these residents had held dear for generations were discarded. Their Security, Privacy and Sanctuary gone in a stroke. Surely that is not right. Did anyone from DLR visit or  examine the site? Do they even care?

We feel it is very important for the elected representatives to be seen to become tangibly involved with the Council on this issue. This is a real problem for the residents of Mount Merrion and we need their assistance.
