Subject: 2019 Historic Structures Fund and Built Heritage Investment Schemes

Dear Constituent,

Today, I launched the 2019 Historic Structures Fund and Built Heritage Investment Schemes.

Through these schemes, my Department will make up to €4.3 million available for built heritage projects. This may be of interest to you or someone you know who is the owner/occupant of a protected structure.

The Built Heritage Investment Scheme (€1,500-€15,000) and the Historic Structures Fund (€20,000-€50,000) will support the owners and custodians of protected structures in every local authority area across the country in 2019. The funds support local custodians to carry out hundreds of small-scale, labour-intensive projects to repair and conserve our historic built environment. The projects will also provide vital support for local jobs in conservation, traditional skills and construction.

Applications open from today until 31 January 2019. Details of the schemes and how to apply are available on my Department’s website, www.chg.gov.ie.

You can also contact the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Heritage Conservation Officers, Julie Craig (01 2047927 / juliecraig@dlrcoco.ie) or (Sinéad O’Hara 01 2054803 / sohara@dlrcoco.ie), for more information.

If you would like assistance in completing an application, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Kind regards,

Minister Josepha Madigan TD
