Garda Alert: do not buy unsolicited goods in a car park

Community Garda John O’Shea has advised residents not to buy unsolicited goods in shopping centre car parks.

As we approach Christmas, recently Gardai have been made aware that items are being sold in the car parks of Shopping Centres. This could be kitchen knives (lately), food, electrical goods etc.  People would approach a person maybe say they are from the local butcher then try sell knives etc.

Obviously these items are of poor quality, no warranty and the sellers would not be registered with revenue.

If it’s too good to be true then it usually isn’t.

The simple message I would like to get out to residents is do not buy goods in a car park.
