Supervalu Mount Merrion have come on board as supporters of our Clean Up Campaign and six young men were out on Sunday morning cleaning, shovelling and sweeping the island outside the shops, onto Chestnut road and The Rise. Well done! They are also providing pickers, gloves, sacks etc for our volunteers.
The MMRA Clean Up Team meet on the first Tuesday of the Month, at 10.30 at the Community Centre, pick up Blue bags and pickers, and either clean up an area of their own choice or an allocated spot. It requires no bending and is not physically taxing work. It is also surprisingly rewarding! An optional complementary cup of coffee turns it into a Social Event, please come along. Our Annual An Taisce Clean Up is on Saturday 8th April, at the Community Centre, from 10.00 to 2.00. Please turn up and have the area looking beautiful for the coming Spring and Summer.
