Rain Gullies & Surface Water

With the wet and windy weather of late,  the 3 side-entry and surface level rain water gullies in Mount Merrion can quickly get clogged with leaves and mud.  If they are blocked up, surface water from heavy rainfall cannot get into these gullies, hence a large flood runs down the road surface of roads such as The Rise.

DLR Environmental Section look after the maintenance and cleaning of road gullies in Mount Merrion.  Please phone (01) 205 4817 or email environ@dlrcoco.ie to report a blocked gully. The contact number out of office hours is (01) 677 8844.

MMRA continue to report the recurring incidents of surface water at the junctions of N11/The Rise, N11/Trees Road Lower/Greygates and Lower Kilmacud Road/South Avenue.  We are following up with the council to get them resolved as soon as possible.

In the meantime, kerbside leaf sweeping outside our homes and checking rain gullies are clear of debris will help prevent/ alleviate incidents during the winter months ahead.
