As part of the dlr Active School Travel iniative, there is a proposed new cycle way that will go through Mount Merrion.
The proposed “Sea to Mountains” cycle way will come from up from Mount Merrion Avenue, crossing N11, up East Avenue through Church Rise Car Park, past the Scout & Guide Hall, up past Church, in direction of Trees Avenue – past school entrance, and then turning up school Laneway, crossing North Avenue through to Deerpark and out through Mount Anville.
There will also be a segregated cycle path on the Lower Kilmacud Road.
